Yet another game where the umpire decided to be the show.
Consider this a official complaint of the umpire who was calling our game (Black hacks Vs. Cubs).
The umpire threw out the catcher while I was batting for absolutely no reason. He was missing calls left right and centre, was making his calls slow and making it generally difficult for us to play.
Big credit to the Black Hacks who showed amazing class during this game while the umpire was being idiotic. They showed great restraint during this game and didn't deserve what they got from the Ump.
The league needs to make sure this umpire never umps again in our league. He's a mockery of the other amazing umps we have in our league.
Points of Issue with the umpire:
1. Calling illegal pitches at will with no consistancy. 6 of our pitchers first 7 pitches were called illegal, though clearly legal. He only called 3 more illegal pitches the rest of the game....
2. Black Hacks Pitcher asked the umpire why he called a pitch a ball and immediately gave him a warning. THe catcher told the ump the ball hit the mat (which it did - I was the batter) and he threw the catcher out of the game. This is the same UMP who threw out the entire Standard Leans team a few weeks back.
3. Missed several calls of hit balls down the line that were foul but called fair. The best part is this umpire doesn't even move to get into position to call the play correctly.
4. The umpire was generally rude in tone and attitude to both teams.
5. The catcher from the Black Hacks did not warrant being thrown out in the least.

New ump this year, but I didn't catch his name. Mustache, glasses, likes to tell stupid jokes during the game and talk on his cell phone. |
